Emanuele Filippi, udinese, ha ricevuto recentemente un endorsement decisamente prestigioso, quello di Enrico Rava, che lo ha definito “uno dei migliori pianisti della nuova generazione”.
A U&J, accompagnato dal sassofonista olandese Ben van Gelder (che sostituisce Seamus Blake, in tour quest’estate con Roger Waters), considerato uno dei musicisti più interessanti della nuova scena jazz Europea, Filippi presenta il suo nuovo disco di musica originale “Heart Chant” (Artesuono, 2022) un progetto che vede la partecipazione di uno dei giganti del sax tenore contemporaneo, il sassofonista canadese Seamus Blake. Il repertorio, interamente originale, ha un carattere intimo, raffinate sonorità ed intensa sensibilità espressiva, con sfumature derivanti dalla tradizione del jazz contemporaneo, dalla musica classica e pop. Emanuele Filippi ha collaborato con importanti musicisti tra cui: Fabrizio Bosso, Seamus Blake, Soweto Kinch, Chris Morrissey, Jure Pukl, ha vissuto a New York, dove è stato allievo di Fred Hersch ed attualmente risiede a Parigi. Emanuele Filippi, from Udine, recently received a very prestigious endorsement from Enrico Rava, who described him as “one of the best pianists of the new generation”.
At U&J, accompanied by Dutch saxophonist Ben van Gelder (who replaces Seamus Blake, on tour this summer with Roger Waters), considered one of the most interesting musicians on the new European jazz scene, Filippi presents his new album of original music ‘Heart Chant’ (Artesuono, 2022), a project featuring one of the giants of contemporary tenor saxophone, Canadian saxophonist Seamus Blake. The repertoire, entirely original, has an intimate character, refined sonorities and intense expressive sensitivity and nuances deriving from the tradition of contemporary jazz, classical and pop music. Emanuele Filippi has collaborated with important musicians such as: Fabrizio Bosso, Seamus Blake, Soweto Kinch, Chris Morrissey, Jure Pukl; he lived in New York, where he studied with Fred Hersch and currently resides in Paris.
